ADRA Scores Charitable Recognition
Adventist agency gains wide acclaim
DRA International, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, is among the “The Razoo 100: The Definitive Guide to Charitable Giving, “an overview of 100 world-class charitable organizations that are making a real impact in the world, according to Razoo, a Washington, D.C.-based independent charity evaluator.
Philanthropic community leaders and Razoo researchers selected the honorees from a field of 1.6 million nonprofit organizations. ADRA was noted for its leading role in the area of Malnutrition and Hunger.
For the fourth consecutive yea, ADRA was recently awarded a top four-star rating by Charity Navigator, America’s leading charity evaluator, for a high level of financial accountability and transparency. This rating is granted to less than 6 percent of U.S. charities. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) also recognized ADRA for a fifth straight year for displaying high charitable accountability standards. The Chronicle of Philanthropy, the leading news source for charities, placed ADRA in the top 400 U.S. charities again in 2008, something it has done every year since 2004.
