o organization as large, colorful, and heterodox as the World Council of Churches can be adequately captured in prose, though the staff writers and committee scribes of the WCC certainly attempt that feat. The varied sights and sounds of this most international gathering of representatives of Christian denominations are vibrant, often intense, sometimes in conflict with each other.
