North Pacific Union, Kettering Health Network Name New Executives
Loor is NPUC secretary; Manchur is Kettering CEO

Two organizations of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America have named new executives, their organizations report.
John Loor will serve the North Pacific Union Conference as executive secretary.
John R. Loor, Jr
., was elected new North Pacific Union Conference (NPUC) executive secretary by the NPUC executive committee during its meeting August 25 in Ridgefield, Washington. In Dayton, Ohio, Fred Manchur was named chief executive officer of church-owned Kettering Health Network, in addition to his role as president.

Loor, who has served as Montana Conference president since 2000, accepted the position, and will
succeed Bryce Pascoe, who retired on August 1. Loor expects to assume his new responsibilities in October.

Loor brings a variety of experiences to his new role at the union conference. Along with a Master of Divinity degree, he holds an additional degree in business administration with an emphasis in management.

Following his 1968 graduation from La Sierra Academy in southern California, Loor completed an undergraduate degree in religion at Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, Tennessee. After graduate work at Andrews University, Loor served as a pastor in California, Kentucky, and Colorado, and as youth director of the Southern New England Conference.

Fred Manchur is the new CEO of Kettering Health Network.
In January 1998 Loor joined the Upper Columbia Conference (UCC) based in Spokane, Washington, where he worked with then UCC president Max Torkelsen as assistant to the president and communication director.

“John is a spiritual leader of unquestioned loyalty to God’s Word and the mission of our church,” says Torkelsen, NPUC president. “He has wide experience and is well known throughout the Northwest. He’ll be a valuable addition to our leadership team as we continue to develop goals and objectives to guide the church in preparing for the soon return of Jesus.”

At Kettering, Manchur will become the next president and chief executive officer beginning December 1, 2010. Frank Perez, the current CEO, will become chief executive officer emeritus and continue to provide assistance to the board during the transition through May 15, 2011.

Manchur, formerly president of Kettering and Sycamore medical centers, and an executive vice president of the parent Kettering Health Network, or KHN, was named KHN president and chief operating officer in January 2009.

“The debt the network and community owes to Frank Perez is enormous,” said Dave Weigley, Columbia Union president and chair of Kettering Health Network. “Frank’s leadership has been extraordinary as he has continued to focus on and realize the mission far beyond our expectations. We are very blessed to have him remain in our service in his new capacity.”
