fficials at Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama, report that two students were killed in a car crash on Friday May 6.

(left), 19, a history major from Lawton, Oklahoma. Both students were in their junior year of college.
According to a statement issued by the college, McNeil was driving southbound on I20-W/59N, near Tuscaloosa, when she lost control of her vehicle and spun into oncoming northbound traffic. An 18-wheeler truck crashed into the passenger side of the vehicle, instantly killing both students.
The Seventh-day Adventist pastor from Tuscaloosa and Chaplain William Smith of Oakwood College, and another licensed counselor rushed to provide counseling to students who had witnessed the accident from a second vehicle that followed the car involved in the accident. Further counseling and support are available to students remaining on campus, mostly seniors, awaiting commencement services on May 13. A student-led prayer service was held May 5. An additional service was held in a campus residence hall chapel on Saturday, May 6.
Samantha Chamorro’s family will return to New Orleans, their place of residence prior to Hurricane Katrina, for memorial services to take place on Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13. Services for Chasity McNeil will be held in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday, May 11, 2006 and Friday, May 12.
