Rediscovery                      [Main Story]

BY BILL KNOTT

Years ago the U.S. Postal Service introduced a new line of postage stamps highlighting the mineral treasures of America with the clever tagline “What’s Mined Is Yours.”

It’s one of those phrases that lingers on the edges of the imagination, reminding me of the riches I often overlook in my haste to consume new information and experiences.

In like manner, this magazine periodically brings before its readers selections from the writings of Ellen G. White, a cofounder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and one of the most published female authors in history. The goal is simple and uncomplicated: we hope that you will discover the beauty and life-changing truths that we have found in these words, now more than a century old. Though they can be found in almost every Adventist home and are today available in numerous electronic formats, the writings we believers collectively refer to as the Spirit of Prophecy are frequently passed by in the quest for newer content. Yet their tested worth and value remains, as gems obscured beneath the surface.

Acquaint yourself again with the richness of your spiritual heritage. Dust off the volumes on your shelves; browse the wealth of truth available at www.egwwrit ings.org.

The renewal that you seek is nearer than you know.
