The 2007 Spirituality
and Health Conference [Main Story]
ustralia’s First National Conference on Spirituality and Health was held in July 2005. The keynote speaker was Professor David Williams. More than 500 delegates participated in the conference and expressed a desire to be involved in future meetings.
The Second National Conference on Spirituality and Health will be in Adelaide, Australia, in August 2007. Leading national and international speakers will present research establishing the links between spirituality, religion, health, and well-being, with professors Harold Koenig (Duke University), Gerald Winslow, and Carla Gober (Loma Linda University) joining the panel of speakers. Several important themes will be identified throughout the three days of presentations, including: Historical Perspectives of Spirituality and Health; Spirituality and Generation Y; Why Health Matters to Spirituality; Disability, Spirituality, and Pastoral Care; Spirituality and the Workplace; Spirituality and Palliative Care, and many others.
